Pilates Hundred Exercise

The Pilates hundred pumps the arms with rhythmic breath while the core stays lifted—a staple endurance warm-up for mat and reformer sessions.

The Pilates hundred is a classic warm-up—supine, head and shoulders lifted, arms pumping as you breathe in for five counts and out for five to reach one hundred beats. It fires the powerhouse and teaches sustained core endurance without heavy load.

Modify with feet down or knees bent if the neck strains. Stop if sharp lumbar pain appears.

Common questions

  • How do beginners modify the Pilates hundred?

Keep head down and pump arms only, or lift head with feet planted and knees bent. Build neck endurance gradually—quality beats completing all hundred counts.
