Critical Power Model
The critical power model maps sustainable power and finite anaerobic capacity (W′) for endurance pacing—stronger than generic zones for power users.
The critical power model describes the power or pace you can sustain for roughly thirty to sixty minutes and the finite anaerobic work capacity (W′) above it—useful for cyclists and runners using power meters. Testing uses short maximal efforts and all-out time trials; software fits the curve.
It guides interval targets more precisely than generic heart-rate zones alone.
