Injury Deload

An injury deload is an early reduction in training volume or intensity when niggles appear—before a full tear or months off.

An injury deload is a planned pullback—often thirty to fifty percent volume for a week—when pain, swelling, or failed movement screens trend wrong, not only after catastrophe. It differs from a scheduled performance deload: the goal is tissue calm while maintaining pattern exposure.

Rebuild with criteria, not ego.

Common questions

  • How is an injury deload different from rest?

You keep easy movement and technique practice; complete rest is for acute severe injuries per clinician advice—not the default for every niggle.
