Interoceptive Meal Check-In

Interoceptive meal check-in uses brief before-and-after body questions to strengthen hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues over external diet rules.

Interoceptive meal check-in asks three body questions before and after eating—stomach hunger, tension, breath—and one satisfaction question after, strengthening internal cues over app rules alone. It extends interoceptive eating cues into a meal ritual you can repeat at lunch or dinner.

Keep it under thirty seconds to avoid obsession or grading perfection. Trauma or alexithymia may need therapist-guided pacing rather than solo deep scanning.

Common questions

  • What if you cannot feel body signals?

Start with scheduled meals and safety. Sensation often returns gradually. Dissociation or ED history warrants professional guidance—not forced introspection.
