Post-Training Sauna

Post-training sauna uses heat after workouts for relaxation and cardiovascular adaptations. Rehydrate well and watch whether late sessions delay sleep onset.

Post-training sauna is passive heat exposure—often fifteen to twenty minutes at moderate temperature—after workouts to support relaxation, cardiovascular stress adaptations, and perceived recovery in some studies. Rehydrate before and after; avoid alcohol.

Not a substitute for sleep or protein.

Common questions

  • Should you sauna before or after lifting?

After is more common so core temperature does not limit performance. If sleep suffers, move sauna earlier or shorten evening sessions.
