Refeed Day Protocol
A refeed day protocol adds structured carbs and calories during long cuts to refill glycogen and support hormones—not unstructured cheat days.
A refeed day protocol temporarily raises carbohydrates—and often calories—to maintenance or slight surplus during prolonged dieting. The goal is psychological relief, glycogen refill, and leptin signaling without ending the cut.
Refeeds are not cheat days: structure higher carbs, keep protein high, and limit ultra-processed binges. One to two days per week or every ten to fourteen days is common in coached cuts.
Common questions
-
How often should you schedule refeeds?
Many use one or two higher-carb days weekly during aggressive cuts, or less often on moderate deficits. Adjust if scale spikes mask fat loss trends.
