EAP Confidential Counseling

Short-term confidential counseling through your EAP vendor for stress, anxiety, and life disruption—usually before longer therapy is needed.

EAP confidential counseling is short-term talk therapy accessed through your employer's assistance vendor—phone, video, or in-person—without billing your regular health plan for the first sessions. Counselors address work stress, relationship conflict, anxiety spikes, and sleep disruption before they become disability leaves.

Confidentiality breaks only for imminent harm or abuse reporting required by law.

Common questions

  • Does EAP counseling go on my medical record?

Initial EAP sessions are often outside your main health plan record; ask the vendor. If you transition to plan therapy, those visits may appear in claims.
